Why Have Wedding Favors at Your Wedding

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

By Yolanda Nash These days, it is customary to give wedding favors to guests when you get married. A wedding favor is a gift given to guests to thank them for coming to your wedding celebrations and can be anything from personalized candles or soaps and bath products to bottle openers or silver pen stands. In fact, anything you can think of that your guests would like as a memento can make a nice wedding favor. It is not compulsory to provide wedding favors but a lot of couples do feel that it makes a nice touch. Most couples decide that giving wedding favors is a great thing to do. First of all, it gives your guests a memento of what has hopefully been a magical day. Second, wedding favors can be inexpensive and the cost of weddings can be high enough anyway. Third, the tradition of giving wedding favors is a nice way of thanking your guests for attending your wedding. If you are getting married while on vacation, a good idea for wedding favors could be beach candle holders or something themed that will evoke great memories of your special day, and something your guests can use while they are with you. Try to order your wedding favors in plenty of time, allowing for possible postal delays or last minute problems. Weddings are stressful enough to plan without ordering items at the last minute and having crossed fingers, hoping they will arrive on time! Remember that a wedding favor does not have to be costly. You can get favors for just over a dollar each if you are on a tight budget. If your budget is more flexible or you have only a few guests, of course, you can push the boat out and get something more expensive. More expensive wedding favors could include crystal and silver perfume bottles for the ladies and silver flasks for the men, or a set of large photo frames, maybe one set per couple. The sky is the limit and it is acceptable to give anything as a wedding favor. Even beautiful crystal ornaments can be yours for a couple of dollars each so it is well worth checking what kind of favors are available and what you can afford. An interesting idea for a wedding favor can be silver place card holders in the shape of something wedding themed, for example, a wedding cake or a bell or heart, so you can display the guests names for the wedding meal and they can keep the placeholder after the event. Some favors are available in any quantity and others have a minimum order amount, for example, twelve or fifteen. Whatever you give your guests as a wedding favor, they will accept it graciously and be reminded of your special day forever. That makes it worthwhile giving wedding favors, since they are inexpensive but will be very much treasured by your wedding guests. Yolanda is the owner of Yolandas Wedding Favors. Rosary Beads

Monday, May 26th, 2008

By Kristy Annely A rosary is a set of beads also known as the chaplet. This string of beads is used to ease the process of counting the numerous prayers that are delivered to complete the recital of the rosary. The string of beads is comprised of a crucifix, a single bead, a set of three beads and another single bead in a prescribed configuration. This is attached to a connector, which is fixed to five ten-bead sets, each divided by a single bead. The use of prayer beads is popular in many religions. Catholics identify their prayer beads as a rosary. This chaplet maybe sculpted from materials ranging from common wood or natural berries to costly metals. Other mediums used to make rosaries include precious stones and glass. In ancient times, rosary beads were by and large strung on a straight thread, or cord and formed to create a circle or loop. In modern times, the use of chained beads is the standard, compared to the corded ones. To further aid with counting and marking divisions of a prayer, a bigger bead divides the sets of ten beads from each other. At times the use of larger beads is substituted by using a medallion or a metal cross. The quantity of beads on a chaplet depends on the number of recitals, which represent different types of prayers. A full rosary consists of one hundred and fifty Hail Marys, fifteen Our Fathers, three or four beads that correspond to introductory holy verses and the “”Glory be to the Father”" prayer. Religious leaders mostly wear this type of chaplet. Some chaplets may have one hundred or one hundred and fifty, corresponding to the number of psalms or a third or two-thirds of them as required. Most people have their rosary blessed. This is done through prayer and holy water. While reciting the rosary it is customary to count the number of recitals, however, one may decide to count on ones fingertips and avoid the use of beads completely. Rosary provides detailed information on Rosary, Rosary Beads, How To Pray The Rosary, Holy Rosary and more. Rosary is affiliated with Online Bible Study. How to Talk to a Man

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

By Amy Waterman Have you ever gone out for dinner or coffee with a man you were really interested in, only to find that keeping the conversation going was a struggle? Have you ever wanted to REALLY connect with a man on an emotional level, only to find that he wasn’t interested at all in talking about his feelings? What these scenarios have in common is a basic misunderstanding of how and why men communicate. While you’re trying to talk to a man in the same way you’d like to be talked to, he may be wishing that you could just stop talking for a minute so that he could gather his thoughts or just enjoy being in the moment. It’s a complaint as old as time: men think that women talk too much, while women think that men talk too little. So how can you talk to a man in a way that will establish a connection and make him happy? In this article, I’m going to give you three tips to improve your communication with men. 1. Allow him space to think. While we’re used to jumping in with our thoughts and continuing passionately until we’re interrupted, not all men feel as if they can think with an impassioned woman talking at them. Say what you have to say, then stop and allow him time to work things through in his head. Don’t get upset if you have to sit in silence for a minute or two while he figures out what he wants to say. He’s not giving you “the silent treatment.” He’s just processing what you said so that he can give you the best response possible. Similarly, if your man is the quiet type, avoid interrupting him. He wants to feel that you’re listening to him, and this requires you to sit patiently for however long it takes him to get out what he wants to say. Active listening will encourage your man to share his thoughts more often, because he knows that you’ll listen to what he has to say. 2. Be direct. One of men’s major complaints about women’s communication style is that “they don’t just come out and said what they mean.” For example, most women will drop hints about what they want for a Christmas present and get upset when their partner doesn’t pick up the clues. Men don’t enjoy little games like this. If you keep a man guessing, he’s more likely to get frustrated than figure it out. So master the art of being direct. If a man asks you where you want to go on a date, only tell him that you don’t care if you actually DON’T care. If there’s a particular restaurant that you’ve been dropping hints about, tell him point-blank that you’d like to go. It won’t diminish the pleasure of the experience, I promise! 3. Draw a man out with activities, not with confrontations. There’s no better way to ensure that a man will clam up than confronting him about his “inadequate” communication skills. Asking a man, “Why won’t you talk to me? Why won’t you open up?” will simply make him feel like you’ve put him on the spot, and his stubbornness will kick in. You must remember that men are socialized to express their emotions through activity rather than words. A father will applaud his son for getting his aggression out on the football field, but if that son tries to talk to his father about his feelings, he’ll be most likely be met with a blank wall. Men defend themselves when they feel they’ve been emotionally attacked by withdrawing behind what I call their “blank wall.” Their faces go blank. They become emotionless, logical debaters. They seek to win the argument even at the cost of hurting you. Avoid triggering this defensive mechanism by using activities to draw out your man. You may want to go mini-golfing, go to an amusement park, or go for a hike. The most important criterion is that it is physical; going to the movies or to dinner doesn’t count. You get extra points if you choose an activity that requires you to work as a team. As you focus on the activity rather than the lack of communication, you may very well find that you can rebuild your intimacy as a couple without needing words. Better yet, as he experiences the satisfaction of demonstrating his skills through activity, he may become comfortable enough to open up to you and share things he would have never said if you’d sat down face to face. By The Rocket’s Red Glare: What Fireworks Displays Can Teach Us About Tradeshows

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

By Susan Friedmann Firework displays are a traditional part of summertime celebrations. There’s something about them — the noise, the color, the pyrotechnic glory — that resonates with crowds. According to some experts, fireworks as we know them got started in the 10th century. That means that this basic technology has been wowing spectators for a very, very long time. Yet when I attended a recent fireworks display, I overheard a woman saying this: “I don’t know how they do it. Every year it’s the same thing, but they keep making it better somehow.” Wouldn’t every exhibitor love to hear that about their booth? It appears that the fireworks companies have mastered what trade show exhibitors often struggle with: presenting the same products and services in a way that’s new and exciting. What can tradeshow exhibitors learn from the pyrotechnic pros? The answers might surprise you. You can do a lot in a very limited time Fireworks are not an everyday event. Most people will see only one to two fireworks shows a year, if that many. Performances are measured in minutes, not hours. The vast majority of shows — industry estimates range close to 70%! — are scheduled in a two week period in the middle of the summer. Yet, even in this small window of opportunity exists the potential for profitability. There are more than a few decent sized fireworks companies out there, vying to show what a good show they can produce. Most of these companies earn the lion’s share of their annual revenue during those hectic fourteen days. These companies know that it is make it or break it time, so they pull out all of the stops. Extensive preparation is done. Things are practiced until they’re perfect. When it’s showtime, every team member does their best to ensure a flawless show. Consider applying that mentality to your tradeshow participation. How would you approach exhibiting if you knew this was your only chance to market all year long? What if 70% of your sales had to come from trade show leads? What changes would you make? How would you train your people? Know what your audience wants Knowing what your target audience expects and desires from you is crucial. The fireworks industry caters to an audience that has certain expectations of a fireworks display: loud noise, bright colors, technical brilliance that also has an insatiable appetite for something new. They’re responded by adding new elements to the existing show: new colors, for example, or shows synchronized with music. The essential product has not changed, but it has been augmented and improved. Tradeshow attendees have certain expectations of your booth, but they also want something new. How can you add to or improve your products, services, or presentation thereof to generate additional excitement around your display? Understand that Audiences Change The customers you have today are not the customers you had yesterday — and they’re definitely not the customers you’ll have tomorrow. Sometimes the changes that occur in your target audience have nothing to do with your products and services and everything to do with a seemingly unrelated product. For example: advances in high-definition televisions have dramatically impacted the fireworks industry. Forty years ago, no one was watching fireworks on television. Now, increasing numbers of people are, as high-definition televisions allow people to experience the beauty of the show without the bugs, crowds, noise, or traffic. Firework companies have responded by creating brighter fireworks that deploy at a lower height, easier for the television cameras to capture. By working to meet the changing needs of their target audience, fireworks companies are striving to remain relevant and entertaining, rather than becoming a reminder of “what people used to do on the 4th of July”. How is your target audience changing? What recent developments have changed how they view, use, and purchase your products and services? Is this reflected in your marketing plan? Connect with the media In addition to the television broadcasts, fireworks companies have been surprisingly savvy about working with the media to promote their shows. From simulcasting the show’s music over local radio stations (broadening the appeal to those viewers who are not at the point of launch) to blogs detailing the work that goes into a show to giving local media ‘behinds the scenes’ peeks at the show in progress, there’s a constant effort to keep their name and company image in the public eye before, during, and after the actual show. Apply this to your tradeshow participation. What are you doing to let attendees know they should visit your display? What are your media outreach efforts during the show? Does you stop sending press releases when the show lights go off? Fireworks and tradeshows have some interesting points of comparability. With proper planning, promotion, and performance, pyrotechnic experts and tradeshow exhibitors can both get a lot of bang for their buck! Written by Susan A. Guaranteed Loans; Getting Good Interest Rates

Friday, May 9th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kum_Martin]Kum Martin Getting a government guaranteed loan from financial institutions, like banks and lending institutions, can be a very good way to finance your present business or farm needs. Guaranteed loans are ideal for those people and companies whose business are actually earning enough to pay for loans but are often denied access to loans simply because they do not have the necessary collateral to serve a security for the loan. Although there are some banks who will gamble on granting unsecured loans to businesses which have the potential to be able to repay the loan, majority of the banks and lending institutions in the country would rather want to play it safe and not grant loans to those individuals and businesses which can not produce tangible properties to secure the loan. If you want to qualify for guaranteed government loans program, you can do so by approaching any affiliated bank or financial institution. The guarantor, either a third party organization or a government agency, does not usually extend the loan directly to the borrower but through affiliate banks and lending institutions. More often than not, a borrower will have to deal directly with the bank or the financial institutions and negotiate the terms and conditions of the loan with them. Although the third party or the government institution backs the loan, it normally relies on the bank or the lending institution to do applicant screenings. They are also authorized to impose terms and conditions in connection with the loan, provided that such terms and conditions will not run contrary to the guidelines of the agency guaranteeing the loan. Why Add Garden Decor?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

By Doreen Archer Looking back through history, gardens have always been emphasized. From the Garden of Eden to modern times, writers have placed the principal characters of their stories and sometimes the most exciting events in gardens. Romantic interludes in garden arbors or in shady nooks are a common occurrence. One does not, however, have to be a writer to envision a restful, romantic and beautiful garden. In todays over-developed suburban landscapes, the land is scalped, trees are removed, and the natural vegetation is destroyed, to be replaced by manicured lawns, demanding unlimited water and polluting chemicals. Professional landscapers frequently continue this trend, replacing native trees with exotics. Fortunately, there are native plant societies which can give good advice about plants for each planting zone, and law makers are beginning to realize that the destruction of the native vegetation allows unwanted plants to take over. In Florida this has happened with the incredible incidence of Brazilian Pepper trees. A shady tree, a garden bench, a beautiful birdbath and a tinkling wind chime make for a pleasant place to spend an afternoon, and with the addition of a solar lantern, a setting for a romantic evening interlude. Statuettes and a waterfall also add to the ambience. For a relatively small investment and some good planning, a suburban tract can become an artistic haven for both humans and small wildlife. Decorate your garden and add to the enjoyment of nature. Quantum Life Biofeedback - Rebalance Your Nutritional Profile Electromagnetically

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Nick_Arrizza,_M.D.] Nick Arrizza, M.D. I added a new and powerful modality to my therapeutic armamentarium last year called the Quantum Life Biofeedback System. I will first give you some background on this new modality and then describe how I have been using it successfully to help individuals with numerous health problems by simply rebalancing their nutritional profile. Quantum Life ( L.I.F.E for short) is one of the most advanced evoked potential biofeedback systems available today. What is an evoked potential? The L.I.F.E. system sends your body electromagnetic frequency signals that correspond to over 6900 parameters and receives from you a reaction or evoked signal which is a measure of whether your body is balanced in those parameters. The evoked signals are measured and determined to be in or out of balance for your body. In this way L.I.F.E. suggests: a) Whether you are deficient in a particular parameter i.e. vitamin, mineral, amino acid, etc. b) Predisposed or susceptible to a particular illness. c) Still carrying the energy imprint of old emotional, physical or spiritual problems in your energy bio-field. d) Whether and which Acupuncture Meridians/Points are in need of rebalancing. e) Whether and which Chakras are in need of rebalancing. f) Whether you have or are predisposed to any allergies. g) Whether you are predisposed to, have a susceptibility to or have been exposed to toxins such as heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, other inorganic and organic chemicals, bacteria, fungus, viruses, parasites etc. h) Whether you are predisposed to, or have had some imbalance in one or more of your organ or physiological systems i.e. Circulatory/Heart, Respiratory/Lung, Gastrointestinal/Digestive, Muscular, Brain/Nervous System, Hormonal/Endocrine System, Bones/Spinal System, Teeth/Dental System, Lymphatic System etc. i) Whether and which unresolved emotional issues you are carrying in your energy field. j) Whether and which Homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Sanum, Nosode, Drainage and other remedies your body may need to rebalance itself. k) And much more. Whats even more remarkable is that the L.I.F.E. System, using what is called your Reactivity Profile i.e. the entire profile of those 6900 evoked potentials can guide a trained and qualified Certified Biofeedback Technician (CBT) to help you and your body rebalance itself in those parameters that are most relevant for you at that given point in time. It is important to note neither the L.I.F.E. System nor CBTs diagnose whether you have an illness or problem. Only your doctor is qualified to do that. The L.I.F.E. System can operate in one of two modes called: 1) The Harness Mode, and2) The Metaspace Mode In the Harness Mode the client is placed in a 5 point harness which includes placing Electromagnetically Sensitive Velcro Straps; one on each wrist, each ankle and around the forehead. These straps help to send and receive messages to and from the L.I.F.E. System and to and from your body. They are the channels through which information flows. In Metaspace Mode things get even more interesting. In this case there is no direct contact (i.e. no harness is used) between the L.I.F.E. System and the client. Employing advanced Quantum Mechanics it is possible for the L.I.F.E System to essentially locate an individual, with their permission of course, in time and space. This means that anyone, no matter where they are on the planet can access this form of help and without having to travel (You may wish to read another article I wrote describing how a client of mine had her depression addressed quickly and painlessly even though she lived 3 hours away from where I was). This is not too different from what your radio or TV receiver does when you tune it to a particular channel. Your Bio-Field is transmitting subtle electromagnetic signals at all times and the L.I.F.E. System can be tuned to your specific Energy Bio-field Signals. With this brief introduction you will hopefully be able to appreciate what follows. L.I.F.E. is uniquely designed to give one an electromagnetic profile of the various nutritional imbalances that may exist at a given point in time in an individual’s body. It is my personal opinion that all illnesses have their roots in such imbalances. It’s not too dissimilar to any other complex operating system, if all of the required parts are not available in their appropriate quantities and at the right times then sooner or later the system will begin to fail. Now because each and every nutrient has not only a biochemical signature/effect but an electromagnetic one as well when the biochemical signal is absent (because the actual physical biochemical is absent) it is possible to temporarily compensate for this by supplying the electromagnetic signal for that biochemical. When this is done rapidly and comprehensively for a series of important nutrients i.e. minerals, vitamins and amino acids via the L.I.F.E. system the individual’s mind and body receive what is akin to an electromagnetic tune up” that takes effect immediately in real time. I have used this simple and direct approach with many individuals with numerous problems (i.e. anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, endocrine disorders, obesity, pain syndromes etc.) effectively. This approach, although not a cure, can help individuals get a head start in the process of feeling better fast.
